Muddy Spuds
by Shona Pollock
A home-cooking bible, featuring over 200 achievable recipes based on decades of experience.
An unpretentious, comprehensive cookbook, focusing on seasonal ingredients for the home cook.
“Cooking for me is a pleasure and something I have been fascinated in since I was a child growing up in Jersey.
I have an enthusiasm to get food right; keeping food classic and simple is so important. I really try to use seasonal products whenever I can; they just taste so much better.
I don’t think of myself as a ‘chef ’ – I am a cook, and a lover of eating. One doesn’t have to be innovative to be a competent cook.
You will see from the recipe introductions that many have come from my family and old friends. I have treasured and used these so many times over the years, that I wanted to create a journal of my cooking memories.
Of one thing I am sure: all are good and well tried and tested.”
Shona Pollock is honest, frank and has a wicked sense of humour. This infuses her cooking and the 40-plus weddings she successfully caters for every year. Many of Shona’s clients have been with her across generations of important family milestones (weddings, christenings, birthdays and funerals), of which she is very proud.
Shona is well-known for her ‘un-catered’ presentation; her food is rustic, delicious and speaks for itself.
